In the Face Swap project I learnt how to effectively make someone look like someone else. I thought it was cool how you can use a mask and then switch the brushes and color the picture back in. This technique can help in a lot of other projects in order to remove mistakes and cover up other mistakes.
The Candy Cane project showed me how to take a simple line and transform it into an actual thing. I used the inner shadow tool along with the inner glow in order to give it depth. This project helped me figure out the importance of shadows and depth.
I was wondering if I could get some extra credit due to the last logo being so difficult to make and I spent the entire semester on it. This project was a lot of fun. Making each logo showed me how a company can be represented just by how their logo looks. For the difficult one I used a lot of different techniques but, the main one I used was the pen tool in order to give shadowing and lighting on different parts of the armor and cape.
The Brushes project helps me understand the importance of diversity when it comes to what brushes to use. A particular brush may fit exactly what you need. It's silly to use the same brush over and over again.
In the Filters project I learned that there are many different filters that can be used for specific desired effects. These can be used to enhance a photo or to give it a different look. Sometimes just changing the filter can make a photo come together.
I love using fractals because I always wondered how people made this effect happen. At first I thought people drew each individual copy. The process of copying the turned and changed color figure is very cool. Now I know how to repeat processes.
At first with this project I had trouble getting the character to look right. His face was very lumpy and looked like a potato. After learning how to make shapes more effectively using certain brushes and the pen tool the character came together nicely. I used the warp effect for the mouth in order for him to smile. I was going to do it similar to South park faces but, I thought i'd mix it up and go for something more creepy. So this is Stitch Face!
The Product Project was fun because I got to design a deck box. Making the deck box was fun because I got to create designs that I've always wanted on a deck box but, could never find them. I created a kind of fractal image for each design and a staircase of black lines to give it a poker vibe. I used the pen tool and process tool.
